Default Will this work?

Is it possible for me to take the console that holds the single cd and climate control out of a 00 and up and put it in my 98. I hate having the the tape deck and love the design of the newer ones.
Thanks!

Shhh because i was saving this thread for later but...

I think my instrument cluster is from an 00 or up.

I have the LCD screen instead of little lamps in my 98. I may be wrong but the owners manual and all the 98 pics ive seen are the older cluster

Soooo maybe

I am pretty sure it will work, as long as they are either both bose, or non bose. But you will have to get the code for the new one. Unless you already have access to it. But I would assume the wiring harness is still the same.

Well i thought it was pretty relevant due to the fact an all LCD cluster can somehow interpret the old signals and still calculate stuff like MPG. Im really puzzled on how it works but it works. I wanna take it apart soon. After i do that ill post pics, maybe even a tutorial

Oh yea and you might find youll need a wiring harness adapter for the sound system

Yea i know youre talking about the CD player :P

IF theres a way to adapt all of those guage signals then theres a way to send left and right audio

so you want to go from single din to double din? you can convert easily, it will just be a little expensive since you need a double din cage and hvac controlls.
