Default window problem

my driver side window is stuck down. heres the background of the problem, since ive had the car the driver window switch never lit up just the single switch for that window, when programmed to roll up with my keys via vagcom all the windows would roll up and down except it, my mom was driving my car one time about a month ago and it got stuck down but then after like 10 mins it started working again.
I ve been searching and reading and it seems the regulators fail often but if the regulator failed i read it would still make a noise? can someone please help.

Ok get a cheap voltage meter and check for voltage at the switch if u have that then check the motor for voltage while depressing the switch, if nothing at either check the wiring, it's called troubleshooting and unlike what was stated on the previous post it will be cheaper to invest the time.

the regulator are the tracks the window runs on. the motor pulls steel rope to make the window go up and down. take the door panel off and take a look. it's super easy to take the door panel off

Yes , u can but u have to remove the interior door pannel and disconect the motor and push the window up and stuck a pice of wood under so fix'it in position it should take you about 30 min don't forget when removing the door pannel after taking out all the bolts don't pull tward you the trim just push'it straight up so you won't brake the clips

were in the process of putting the panel back on, but were not sure which wire go where under the window switches i have a red, yellow, and i believe brown all the same size and pattern and a smaller black one, and three little single black wires.
does anyone know the order or has a picture of it.

Figured out where the wires go. But the one clip(the one that plugged into the driver switch) it was taped up and the po had three single black wired going to it, i plugged the real clip in and the switch lights up but the window still doesnt work( at least the window is up now)
Oh and for some reason the lock unlock switch isnt working, but the car will lock with the keys or when i hit 10 mph( vag com) i have no idea wat the hell the po did to this thing.
