Default Wiper motor fading

The wiper motor barely manages to move the wiper blades. Gradually getting worse, recently the blades did not move at all.

Is the motor or friction in the mechanism/arms?
If motor: can it be 'rejuvenated' with a thorough cleaner (contact cleaner, rubbing alcohol) or new 'brushes'?

If is it normal, and a new motor is due?

Instructions to take the motor out anywhere?

it may not be the motor at all. it could be the nut holding the arm to the wiper linkage that's loose.

otherwise get another motor. see if somebody has a used one to part with. they hardly ever go bad

I haven't even looked under the hood in this area. Is the 'nut' under the hood, or directly on the wiper (note: both wipers stop and show the slow down).

In preparation: Does someone want to part from his wiper motor? Zip for shipping is 48114.

directly on the wiper on the part it pivots there should be a rubbery cap that you can pop off with a 13mm? if you have to do the motor, you'll need to take off both wiper arms and the 2 pieces of black shroud right under the windshield. then it's a few torx bolts and the whole assembly comes out. usually a failing motor makes a weird loud noise everytime it wipes.

fiy the wiper arms will be a bitch to take off lol. check the classifieds for people parting out their car

The wiper arms are connected solid, don't move at all (if that is the "nut" you are referring to; if not, please specify the location of the 'nut'; thanks).

Looks like its the motor itself (since the wiper arms are both connected solid to their their drive pivots).
