Default Wire Connectors (Tail lights)

Hey guys,

I need to swap wires around within the connectors themselves and am having trouble doing so.

This is what I'm doing: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext38.shtml

This is what I need to do:

I popped the plastic covering off, but I can't pull the wires out of their sockets. I think I need to slide something into the connector from the front and sort of pry open the mechanism holding it in place. Any ideas?

How have those who have changed tail lights dealt with this issue?

Thanks

try a super small screwdriver. they make tools at radioshack. they have little barbs on them thats why you can't pull them out.

Something like this. That picture came from this thread. There will be slots by the metal contact in the connector. If you look down them you will probably be able to see the tab that is holding it in place. Just stick something small down there and push the tab down enough that the metal contact will come out.

slide another wire halfway in if you can squeeze it through, while pulling the other one at the same time. Trick of the trade straight from electricians.
