Wtf is the smaller hose goingintotheairbox???
Do any of you know what the purpose of that smaller hose is that feeds into the front of the airbox on the 1.8t?
The adapter hose on mine tore and now the smaller hose is disconnected.
Where can I find a new adapter hose?
Also, just ordered new plugs, floormats, and a timing belt kit for my late model AWM. Hope to get her up and running in about 2 weeks.

I think I just figured it out. It's the SAI pump feed.
But mine doens't look like this... there is no L connector w/ adapter end, instead the connection is pipe-to-pipe with a hose and a hoseclamp.
Maybe a it borke and the mechanic implemented a quick fix?

Yeah that sort of looks rigged if my memory serves right. If it won't connect to the airbox you could seal the port on the airbox and get a mini breather filter for that hose. It just sucks fresh air from the intake on a cold start for the first minute for emissions.

Is this something that only late model B5's have?
But i think 99.5 should have an sai cause nic (somebody5788) has one in his 2.8
