5 speed problem!!
I have the 98 audi a4 2.8l with the 5 speed transmission and idk what to do!! replace it, have it rebuilt or it might just be something stupid and simple! the car starts and all that good stuff. you can also put it into gear like through the gate but it wont engage, you can hear it trying to but it wont, same with every other gear, it just wont engage and the clutch has pressure, I have no clue what to do! any help would be awesome!

Its important to have the car on dollies or an actual shop jack when changing the fluid. My mechanic and I had the car on a shop jack, he removed the pan, drained the fluid, pumped in new fluid, turned the car on, went from 1st to 5th gear, reaching speeds of about 40mph. You need to accelerate so the gear actually engages. While it is engaging it will pull new fluid in with it. You do that a couple times and then you top off the fluid level. Its important to change the internal filter also.
If you did it that way you shouldn't of had any issues.
And for the record, mine is also a tiptronic 5.

It was most definitely water
My 1998 A4 quattro 2.8 did the exact same thing! I change fluids because of tranny issuse...I opened up the carpet on the passenger side after googling the problems and the tcm was swimming. I disconnected the battery dried up the water and in frustration let the car sit in my garage for 6 months. One snowy day i got out there put stuff back together cleared the codes with Vag-com and she worked fine!!! I resealed my windshield cleaned sunroof and engine compartment drains. I also had to replace the 2 rain drip cowels and the cowel grille. Thats when i notice the rain tray over the cabin filter wasnt in its correct position either. No water...no problems!!!

Help with my audi a4 b5 1.6

ENGINE oil pressure? Tranny has nothing to do with it. Have you VERIFIED that you have low oil pressure (check with a gauge), or do you just report a 'low oil pressure' warning (which often comes from flaky sensors)?
