Default 034 Puck Valve / Pressure Regulator Valve Sucking in Air

Hi Everyone,

I've been fighting a P0171 code for a while now and can't find any leaks in the vacuum lines at all. I tried the "brake cleaner" trick, but couldn't find anything leaking anywhere.

I do have a Pressure Regulator Valve (Puck Valve) which seems to be sucking in air all the time through an opening near the side of it. Is this normal or does this Pressure Regulator Valve need to be replaced? ECS tuning has them for about $45 but I don't want to replace it if its not broke. Can anyone help? Thanks!

OK, I pulled the valve out and if I put a finger over one of the 2 outlets and then blow into the other one, air comes out the tiny vent hole near the top of this valve. I'm guessing that it should not work this way but can anyone verify this? Here's a picture of the valve on the ECS Tuning site ( http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...WD&engine=1.8T ).

I answered my own question... replaced the Pancake/Puck valve withe a new one from the dealer (p/n 06a-129-101-F), cleared the P0171 code, and now it runs like new again! No more codes and no more rough idling either. Awesome!
