17" to 16" Rim Conversion
My new to me 2003 A4 has 17" rims and low profile tires. I want to switch to 16" rims and higher profile tires. The specs for this car call for 17", 16" and, in fact, 15" tires.
Is there any good reason I should not do this? Other than the "cool" factor, of course.
Thanks,
John

No reason not to, and in fact 16" will ride a little better due to more sidewall. You should be able to find rims at junkyards or google online sellers. You might even find someone with 16inchers willing to trade with you.
I fit 16"s in the Winter with snow tires, with the higher tire the ride is much smother and feels better when driving in snow - giving more confidence. My normal wheels are stock 17" that have my summer tires on.
