I have a 2004 A4 3.0 Quattro 6spd. Just purchased privately last week. Last night the "MPH" indicator light came on and it looks like a headlight level of some sort came on. I have no owners manual. Anyone tell me why they're on and how to get them off?

 

MPH indicator came on while you are driving,right? If it does, that means the previous owner had speed limit reminder set up. When you are over the pre-set speed, MPH indicator came on and reminds you are over the pre-set speed. I had set up at 85MPH so it reminds me to slow down when I go over 85. :P You can also cancel it so it won't show up again.

There is a TSB for headlight leveling so it really depends on if the indicator came on and disapper right away or came on and stay. If the indicator came on and disapper right away, don't worry about it, there is nothing wrong. It happends sometimes (but not too often) and only happen when you have headlight switch in Auto mode. If the headlight indicator shows up and stay, that means something wrong with your headlight auto leveling module.

 

Hold down the check button on the dash to clear the MPH alert.
