Just recently I was travelling home from work when the turbo suddenly cut out. I've had the car for about 5 months now and its never happened before. Before this it just made a loud pssshh noise if I step on the gas harder than normal. Anyway, I travel over a hill everyday to get to work, and this gives the turbo a good run. I was just starting to go up and it suddenly cut out. I found myself foot flat on the gas but getting no grunt. It just sat at about 4500 revs and going 65kmh. When travelling on the flat grounds the turbo will work 30% of the time if not less. Does anybody know whats wrong and how much to fix it?

 

check the diverter valve, and for boost leaks
