A guy recently told me that the B6 Auto Tiptronic trans is one used by BMW and Porsche. Any truth to this?

Anyone know what model this trans is?

I'm trying to decide on a manual or Auto on a B6 Avant I want to get.

I believe it's called the model V01. It's used in the B5 and B6 A4's.

Lovely transmission. Smooth as butter as long as you change the fluid & filter a couple of times during the life of the car.
