2002 A4 EPC light on and Stalling
I am a college student who recently bought a 2002 Audi a4 1.8L Turbo. The car drove fine for a week until the check engine light came on. I took it to get the code read my a mechanic and I was told it was just my EGR sensor and I could keep driving my car with no problem until I could fix it. He said the only bad thing would be that I would get slightly less miles per gallon. I then drove my car to Austin, Texas which in only an hour and a half away and back with no problem. That was on Saturday. Yesterday(sunday) it was a bit chilly outside maybe like 50-60 degrees out and i tried to start my car and it would start. I kept trying and finally got it to start. When I did the EPC light came on and the battery light came on. When I got the car into first gear I hit the gas and the car would only idle. I literally floored the gas and it would not rev. I pulled over and stopped the car. It started but would keep dying out seconds after I turned it on. I got a friend who is better with cars than I am to come help get it back to my house. The EPC light stayed on and the engine kept dying or stalling. He had to rev the engine a lot just to get us to move like 10 mph. I just got this car and I have little to no experience with cars especially Audi's. Please let me know what the problem most likely is because I don't think I would make it to the Audi dealership. I keep hearing about crank position sensor might be the problem but I am not sure. Please Help!

Buy yourself a vagcom by ross tech and do your own readings. Don't just through money away guessing get the code read!! I know the throttle body or gas pedal either either could do that too. Your car is in limp mode.
