2003 a4 1.8t no fuel in rail. Hard to crank
This car has maybe 130k miles and has been a lemon since I got it 2 years ago. My newest problem is when I go to crank the car It will not crank immediately. I have to hold.the key over turning it almost to build compression in the fuel line . Wait 45 seconds turn it back on and it will almost catch. Then I do this again and cranks usually. Once it's cranked it stutters (starving of fuel until the rail gets full of gas) but in 30 seconds it's back normal and I can drive anywhere. If I leave my car off for 30 minutes or less it will crank right up, but leaving it off over 4 hrs plus I have to do this all over again. After leaving the car off 4 hrs plus I noticed no fuel in the rail when I tested it. Notes: I have replaced the battery already, fuel filter already, spark plugs already, new alternator. My fuel pump humms after the car is turned off for a good 10 minutes and beeps (high humm tapping) noise while the car is on. My thinking is it's a fuel pressure regulator. But I can't locate it anywhere. Any thoughts on the cause here guys?
