Default 2003 Audi A4 Headlights Stopped Working

I have an '03 A4 1.8T and last night the dipped headlights just stopped working! The full beams are working fine, along with the hazards/indicators/sidelights/foglights and the fuses are fine. Had a look at the bulbs and the filament is intact so I don't think they're blown. There are a few solutions online, but all seem to result in going to a dealer!

Any ideas??

Thanks

did they both blow at the same time or was it one and then the other. I would check the connections first. But it might be ur ballast took a crap on u.

Both at the same time unfortunately. I had a fear it was the ballast but was hoping it was something a little simpler. I haven't had time to trace connection and check them, will do it at the weekend. Anything in particular I should be looking out for?
