have the opportunity to purchase a 2003 Avant with a 3.0 engine and the 6 speed tranny. The car has 106K on the odometer. The timing belt, water pump has been done and all fluids changed. The coil packs were also changed out from the recall. He is asking $8900 for a very clean car. Is there anything else I should look for when driving this car or looking at? Maintenance wise is this car reliable? Also I was told that the glove box is broken on one side which is common and a crack in the windshield. I am not sure if this is a good price or not? Or should I talk him down more since I will have to get a new windshield? Thank you.

 

Price sounds good, check edmunds, kbb, and nada. See if there is service history.

And, at least try to talk him down!

 

Yeah, I was going to do that as well. I have a passat right now but have really wanted an 6 wagon for awhile and have finally found one and have been doing some looking around on here but can't find too much info about the 3.0 6 speed wagon. Just bits and pieces.
