2003 B6 - hood closed without re-connecting the cable
After work on the engine, dropped the hood closed, but forgot to re-connect the hood latch cable.
Is there a way to get the hood open?

Found two methods on other site:
a) remove 3 'acorn' nuts that connect the latch to the hood (tidious)
b) from underneath, use long, stiff rod to hatch release lever to passenger side (couldn't get that to work)
