Is 2004/05 the best B6 model year?
yes, I've searched.
I'm getting ready to buy an A4 Avant (quattro, manual, 1.8).
From what I've read the 2004 A4's were above-average in reliability for the B6 models.
I know that the first thing to look for is a properly maintained vehicle, and I'm aware of the problems the B6's have, but does the 2004 (and 2005) model year really command such a premium in reliability over the rest of the B6's, or is that just a myth?

Anyone? I understand that each model has its issues, and in general the end of a model's lifetime is the best to get, but are 2004-05 B6's markedly better than, say, a 2003, or is there no difference if properly maintained?
as far as i know there's no real difference in reliability. the 04/05s are still younger, so maybe it's just that some of the usual stuff hasn't broken yet
i've had my 03 for about 5 years and it's been quite good to me.
