Default 2004 A4 1.8T Rough Idle

Just changed oil dipstick in new to me A4. Rough idle at start-up. This hose/broken check valve found. Anyone know what it is? Where it connects? The hose terminates on right (driver) side of engine bay below power steering add reservoir. Thanks for help Shane and others. Scott

Doesnt look like the check valve is broken, you just need to find what it is disconnected from.

Ok it looks like that should hook to a T fitting that is under the intake manifold, behind the throttle body. you should just have a T fitting with one open nipple

I agree that would appear to be the right spot, but that joint has a piece of solid rubber with a clamp...What does this do? The line was maybe off for a while and we just disturbed it?

Sounds like a block off for some reason. I would try to hook it back up.
