Default 2004 Audi A4 3.0 oil leak HELP

I recently purchased the car and noticed an oil leak. It's not a ton of oil but more than I would ever like. I checked all of the electronics/lights/switches and the car is perfect, just failed to look under the front of the car. This is my first German car that I've owned so I know maintenance will never be cheap.

What should I check for? OR
Where should I take the car to get looked over? I'm not sure if there is a better (cheaper) route than the Audi dealership.

I bought a 2003 A4 3.0 MT6 for my daughter 5 years ago. Nice car. I would check the obvious -- valve cover gaskets. It also depends on where they leak is in relation to the engine - parking on some clean pavement may help you isolate. I have had leaks from my rear tranny seal and differential (in my 2.7T) at different times in it's 231k life. Engine area leaks are normally caught by the plastic under-engine cover - which is why the Germans put them on these cars. If yours it missing, then you will see the leaks that end up on the cover.
