42 Designs LED License plate lights
Hey guys. So I did a search. I'm trying to determine if these will work in my 02. I already ordered them only $12. Someone said they would work, but I want to make sure. I saw a B6 the other day with the LEDsI had to get them But I wanted to go the cheap way. Anyone try these drop ins? Any problems with them? You guys have helped me with changing 02 sensors, I figure I could get some input on this. Thanks14.5v 39mm Fuse Style LEDs

I just dropped them into my '03 and they seem to work fine. One concern I have is heat. The instructions from 42 Draft Designs are very VW-centric and mention that some cars require that the lamp housings be vented. They of course do not mention Audi. Anybody know if this is necessary on our cars?
A note on installation. Those little screws are soft and easy to strip. I was careful (or so I thought) and had to drill one out anyway. Have a Dremel tool handy!
It would be nice if 42 Draft Designs could put together a kit for the B6! It would take a lot of the guess work out of this process.

boy412,
I asked the same questionearlier regarding the heat on our cars. The answer was LED lights normally don't generate much heat and our lamp housing is not fully sealed anyway so no need to worry about that. I've installed those bulbs for a while now and they worked good so far.

Cool. I've been in contact with 42 Draft Designs and they are looking for more feedback from Audi users. They would like to hear what has been working for people and what hasn't.
So let them know! They seem like very nice people and i'm happy doing business with them.

We do not recommend the use of these LEDs on the following vehicles: Mk5 VWs, B6+ Audis.
did the guy their say that b6+ is ok? why would they specifically say our cars on there?

I have a set of the 14.5V 39mm fuse style white from 42 designs in my B6 and haven't had any problems. I used to have them in my B5, but I kept them and installed them in my B6 about 2 months ago without any issues. They are a little longer than the oem bulbs, but still fit in the metal clips.
