Default 60k service

So I just changed my oil, spark plugs, cabin air filter, and engine air filter for my 60k service. Just wondering if you guys know about how much money i saved myself from getting it done by the dealership. I still will drop it off there tho to have them check for any leaks and to have them check the timing belt as i need to have it checked by the dealer so i am eligible for the class action lawsuit thing that I received in the mail if it snaps before 105k. By the way i paid 40 for the oil and filter, 40 for the plugs 28 for the engine filter and 22 for the cabin so im just wondering what I wouldve saved in labor costs? Thanks

at least 200+ id imagine, probly just in labor alone.

i think labor rates are high atm, anywhere from $90-125 an hour.

I work at a Land Rover store in CT, and we charge 125 an hour.

Ive gotta make an appointment for them to check my timing belt also, for the lawsuit.

All I know is u saved a quite a bit of money...I mean just for the oil change the dealer charges like $85-$90. I need to get all that stuff done myself cuz my car is at 61xxx.

The thing is, I don't know how to do any of that stuff myself, so I might just buy everything like you did, and then take it to a shop so they can do it all. I'll spend more money than you, but at least I won't spend as much as I would if I took it to the dealership

This was all easy stuff to do thanks to all the helpfull threads and walkthrus available out there. hardest part was getting the car up the ramps to do the oil b/c the car sat too low. Just cut a 2 by 4 and drove up them untill I was high enough on the ramp so that my front end wouldnt hit. Getting the new oil filter on was a b**** too because it was so big haha. other than that not too bad/ not even that time consuming, just have to be carefull and take your time

My stealership hit me for $428 all said and done. Edmunds.com will tell you almost to the penny, they give the maintenance intervals and what needs to be done, as well as separate parts and labor cost, and how much labor they will hit you for.

It is a class action lawsuit out of the state of California regarding timing belts in 1.8 turbo engines. I believe all model a4's with this engine from 00-03 are eligible along with TT's but i am not sure got the paperwork in my car and i will check it out later to be sure......It is a warranty for the timing belt up to 105,000k but the dealer has to inspect it at 40,000 and 80,000 to make sure its not in need of change.....if it does need change i believe its out of our pocket.....It just covers if the belt snaps while you are driving are ruins the engine then we are covered .....AGAIN i will have to double check the paperwork b/c i am not totally sure.....

00 - 03? That covers both the b5 and b6 then... Thats really interesting... Anyone got a link or know of how to get this paperwork and everything then? I'm probably going to replace my timing belt/water pump here in the next several thousand miles anyways. I just hit 70k but just curious all in all...
