I have an 05 A4 Quattro 1.8T automatic with a weird behaviour when I put

the car in reverse. It seems like that right after I put the car in reverse,

then press on the gas, the gear seems like it slips or it's not engaged

entirely, making the car jerk while going backwards.

Or this has only happened twice in the last 9 months, but sometimes

I press on the gas (when in reverse) then the car won't move at all... then

suddenly a loud "BANG!!!!" and the car suddenly jerks backwards with no

slip. I was just wondering if these symptoms are normal on the 5speed

automatic or something I should definitely get checked out. If I wait a sec or

two until the gear fully engages to reverse, the problems don't appear.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Does your check engine light come on after it does? If you have access to VAG scanner, have your tranny module scanned. I am a dealer specializing in Audi/VW, we have an Audi A8 that does similar things that your car does. Only ours does it when you put into Drive. It doesn't do it often, but it does it from time to time. According to our scanner the car has bad clutches, gonna need a new tranny. Since yours does not do it often, have it checked out immediatly. It might just need a new tranny filter and oil flush. Good luck
