A4 1.8T ?'s...
1) in NY the usual octane is 93 and I've never seen higher. Where would you get the 100oct?
A) It's not very common, normally i find it near race tracks/drag strips.
2) If you get 93 oct and stock programs, how do you switch it? I heard it's the cruise control lever but doesn't that **** up the cruise control?
A) I don't do it that offten so i don't really remember the exact procedure, it does not affect the cruse control since you can only switch it while the car is off and the key is in the on position.
3) If you got the two programs, you could just switch back to normal for service this way they dont see it and void the warranty, right?
A) Thats the idea. But APR and most chip mfgs claim they are undetectable by the dealer anyway and will not void your warranty.
Well most of the questions have been answered... But I got the dension icelink kit for mine and it was real easy to install if you just get the 4 radio keys to remove the head unit... I got mine on ebay for like 50 bucks. The thing about the slow start is obviously the turbo lag if you have an automatic. I had an automatic passat 1.8t and I as well didn't like the slow start. Thats why I went with a manual on the audi.
Also about the whole 90k mile thing.. I sure hope they replaced the timing belt and all that.. If not you definitely should..

As far as the timing belt, I just ordered the kit from ecstuning. I got the Ultimate Plus, with the camshaft seals and whatnot. Is the extras in this package necessary or is just the standard Ultimate package enough?
I pulled the records fromthe times the previous person went to a dealership and the timing belt was never done. It looks like some of the work was done at a non-dealership shop. That wouldn't show up on on carfax, would it? I can tell the tires are new and the brakes were done, but can't find any record of it.

oh and the slow start is completely unrelated to the turbo! unless you have big turbo (BT) our cars use a k03 turbo (otherwise known as a hairdryer or instaspool k03
also if you are bone stock, the k03 only peaks 8-9 lbs boost whereas a 1+ program peaks 23lbs
