a4 1.8t timing chain tensonor noise

Default a4 1.8t timing chain tensonor noise

Hey people I had just replaced my head gasket and timing chain tensonor. The tct is making a terrible noise.. any suggestions. .

Hmmm thats odd, my tct went and was super loud and when i replaced it the noise continued for only about 8-10 seconds then went away once it built up the oil pressure. hopefully nothing is blocking your oil pick up tube/turbo isnt on its way out

this is very long shot but did you remove the tensioner tool after installing the tensioner?

Yes I removed the tool.. The chain has tension but when their is a load on the cams the tensonor completely bottoms out and then will reset.. New rebuild on the turbo.. great oil pressure.. about 2000 rpm and the tensonor sound goes away..

Should I have primed tthe the tensonor.?

No, did you spin the motor over by hand to make sure everything was good? When motor is at TDC there is supposed to be 16 chain links between each mark on cams.

I changed my tensioner too and sometimes it makes noise and other times it doesn't.
