Timing belt

 

While talking to the dealer about the showroom A4, I was told the B8 was changed to a timing chain...

Don't know anything about it other than being told that...

the maintenance manual is a good place too look when it will occur.

 

my friend has an 02 a4 3.0 with 86,000 miles on it and he is going to change the timing belt when it hits 90,000. cost to change timing belt and the pulley.....$400 including labor.......

 

I don't know what year your car is but Audi recommends the timing belt for the 06 2.0T changed at 110k miles. It used to be 85k but they changed the recommendation around Nov 2008. I got an amendment in the mail stating this change.

 

Wow. I don't know what could have changed that would give it an extra 25k miles of life. I think I'll get mine done sooner to be safe.
