Greetings,

My 2003 Audi A4 (B6) is currently not starting. The engine turns over just fine but no ignition. Just before this started happening, I accidently dangled my cell phone charger (part that goes into the phone) into the cigarette lighter socket. I smelled a mild burning electrical smell. I then tried plugging the correct end of charger into the socket but noticed it wasn’t charging my phone. I got home later, checked the cigarette lighter fuse (#33) and sure enough it was blown. I replaced it and then confirmed that my phone was now charging. However I then go to crank up the car and it won’t start which is where I am.

Below is my VAG scan from VCDS (I omitted groups that had no errors). I check measuring blocks in the 17-Instrument cluster, group 125 for CAN-Databus Communication (Powertrain). Engine is 0 which I believe means the ECM is not online at all. I took apart the ECU box and checked the two fuses which are OK. I re-seated the 4 relays as well as the actual ECU plug but same issue. Anyone have any guidance on what to check next?

with the key in the on position, does the cel come on? i would suspect a fuse may be blown perhaps. check the ones in the ecu box before you get too excited.
