A4 Quattro Dying....
I searched the forums but could not find anything...
2005 A4 Quattro - about 90K miles...daughter's car.
She was telling me that the battery was dying because the car would just stop running. Well, I determined it wasn't the battery. Took the car into dealership for service.
Coded out that the fuel pressure sensor needed to be replaced. So they did that. Did not fix the problem. So, they decided it was the fuel pump. At this time I was pissed cuz it sounded like they were trying things and running up my bill. after replacing the fuel pump they said it drives around just fine but when they let it idle after about 15 minutes or so the vehicle just starts to die out like it is running out of gas. Now they have no idea.
I said well that tells me it's not the fuel pump and why didn't the fuel pump code out if there was an issue. They said it wouldn't unless it was completely dead to which I responded well then it's obvious!!
Any ideas??

it starts up after sitting for a few minutes. When my daughter would drive it, she said she would start driving down the road, get a few miles, and it would start dying out. Has nothing to do with the battery...i'm pretty sure.

Best advice I can give is to check all your lines and the alternator, ignition switch, and coils... and STOP going to the stealership, they will rape you penny for penny. These cars are not as difficult to work on as everyone has made them out to be... Just gotta find a good european mechanic in your area that specializes in audi/VW

Check and clean all battery and alternator connections. Corrosion could cause this combined with heat.
When it dies turn the key off and then to the run position and listen for the fuel pump.
When you try to start it immediately after dying does is crank but not start or doesnt crank at all?
