A4 radio reception is terrible fm has become fml
The cd player works changes disc fine the casette player works nothing wrong there the radio..... errrr has really bad signal and i dont know why id take a look at the antenna (if i knew where it is) any ideas its just the radio signal is very bad all i get is static and a few words and scraps of a song am works ok.
its the radio antenna in the rear of the car. its prone to cracking from the heat and causing interference in radio reception. Its located ontop of the rear window. The panel should pop off and the antenna runs the length of the window.

Once you find it, unbolt it and look for any cracks, especially if your AM radio reception is still good.
hmm havent seen that one yet auditech. I was refering to this one

^^^Yes thats what i was talking about, thats the amplifier, just didn't have a picture of it. The antenna wraps around the back window.
The pic i posted was off a TT that was in my album, i just wanted him to see what the radio wires looked like.

i was actually going to ask u where that one u posted in the pic is located. cuz i had never seen it in our cars but that explains why i hadnt seen that. but u can either try to apply pressure to the crack if its visible and see if that helps or some guys will solder a wire like in the diy above.
I once had really bad FM reception on my 04 A4 Cabriolet, and I discovered that it got better if I changed stations from the steering wheel control rather than the radio control. I have no idea how or why this could possibly work, but now I make a point of changing the station from the wheel on a regular basis and my fm reception is fine (my engineering side speculates that maybe the steering wheel has a better ground and it discharged some kind of static buildup in the tuning circuit or something).
