Advice on buying an 03 1.8t quattro
Hello All! I am new to this forum and I have an opportunity to buy a 2003 A4 1.8t Quattro Automatic with 124,000 miles on it. I was wondering if there was any advice to things I should look for besides the usual timing belt, water pump, oil changes, and coil packs. Its selling for $4800 so I'm not sure if thats a good price or if there might be hidden problems justifying the low price that I should dive in deeper to find if I want this car. Thanks! Oh and if anyone here can give me their real world mpg/ how many miles they get on a tank that would be helpful!

my first thought is the CVT tranny, but being a quattro it should be the tiptronic.
If it is a CVT tranny that is a lot of miles, pretty much a timebomb waiting to happen if it is.
If is the tiptronic you should be ok, but that is pretty cheap, even with that mileage. Something smells fishy. Get the vehicle checked out by a trusted local indy audi/VW mechanic. Check the VIN with the local dealership for service records / recalls performed etc as well as a CarFax.
