So I need a working cat converter for my car in order to pass inspection I've been looking up people in NY who are parting out there cars and I've only found people with B6 S4 and a B6 A4 3.0 I have 1.8t engine so I was curious are these converters all the same since they are B6 models..

no a 1.8t cat is for a 1.8t
a 3.0L cat is for a 3.0L

I have a 3.0L cat fix here:

Ironically, I got a high-flow catalytic converter for less than the stock one after mine went.

Not so ironic, the high flow cats are made with much less material so they're much less to buy. High flow cats are usually half the price of an OEM.

Do you realize that tampering with emission related devices is a Federal crime with possible prison time & up to a $25000 fine.
You own a auto repair business & you are advertising this , Really!

Good luck , not to smart!

As far your answer on the cat it is dealer only new. All aftermarket cats are crap & only a temporary fix t best.

there are alot of guys who run aftermarket and dont have any problems with them and have dyno numbers to prove it. If anything it helps the engine run better. U just need to code out the 02 dtc that comes on cuz of the higher flow of carbons which make the sensor freak out! also better gas mileage! Come on now guys!
