Audi A4 1.8T Vibration
Please find the video of how the engine is moving when I change from DRIVE to REVERSE. This is causing the motor to put pressure on the SNUB. Is this engine behavior normal when changing gears? I hope the video will help to understand the problem.
Was it the mounts? Anyone know what the bottom transmission mounts called or a part number? I have the same problem but they said its a bad bottom transmission mount but audi can't find the part? It's on the bottom on the frame just below where the dash would be its towards the end of the transmission.
Check on OEM / Performance Parts for Audi, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Mini, Porsche & Volkswagen - ECS Tuning. Enter car information and it will give you the part number. Mine are new and I continue having the problem.
I still have the problem. I replaced the Axles from Raxle. The problem was reduced. I also replaced the TCM and I still have the problem. I am convincing that the problem is located in the transmission. I believe that the engine is rocking too much back and forth. I replaced all mounts using original ones. The engine is running like new at “P” or at “N” but as soon as I set the trany in DRIVE, the vibration start inside the car. I adjusted the snub millions of times, setting all kind of position; Engine off, Engine at drive and then set the snub, and no change.
I understand that the engine is rocking to much so it does not matter how I set the snub It always hit the snub. So next week, I am planning to check the transmission. Also, I started to notice several weeks ago, that when I turn the engine in the morning and I put the car in “D”, the transmission does a hard shift to the 1st gear. But if I left the car 5 minutes in the morning to warm the engine, the problem stop and then I do not have hard shift during the day.
So my conclusion in my scenario is that I am having problem with my transmission. When I put the car in “D” pressing the brake pedal, I can feel the engine putting press use on the transmission and I can see the engine rising up. I can do the same process in my new 2012 Audi and the engine does not move. I repeat the same process in my Nissan Armada and the same scenario, the engine does not move..I do not know what is causing the transmission to twist the engine. By the way, the Converter is new.
