First post! Be nice, I'm trying to do from phone and can't figure out how to set my profile up right :-)

I own a 2003 A4 1.8 Quattro. I have had it since 2006. It only has 71k. I really love the car. But this year has been expensive (tires, battery, oil leak, the shield on the bottom fell off on the NJ turnpike, big smoking AC problem). My mechanic says its in good shape but I should do timing belt (and anything else while in there) soon.

My mom has a 2013 A4 Quattro Premium coming off lease in a few weeks. I could pay her residual and upgrade to a much newer version. Obviously more money upfront but fewer repairs.

A huge draw for me is...reliability. (I really don't like getting stuck on side of road with a broken down car in 100 degree heat with my dog or stranded for three days waiting for a part, both things happened this summer separately.)

I really can't decide what to do! Attached to the 2003 (even though it's not so pretty anymore from living on NY streets) but probably the practical thing is to upgrade.

Just curious if any other Audi people had thoughts! I have to decide by next week.

And if I sell my 2003, any advice how?
