This tube is located by the oil pan and is not connected to anything on one end/has been disconnected. My car idles roughly. The catalytic converter and o2 sensors may need to be replaced, but before I do so, I'd like to figure out what this disconnected tube is. I'm worried to drive this car for fear of causing worse damage.
The connected end of the tube. Not sure where the other end goes.
I just bought a used 2004 Audi A4 B6 Quattro 1.8T with 135k miles that is giving the following codes:
P0171 P0130
My mechanic friend thinks it has a blown head gasket but I'm not sure because the oil is not white/no coolant rises to the top. He did say he tastes some metal deposits in the oil and the coolant in my overflow tank is darker than normal (could be oil)... When I got my car back from the repair place it had about 3 quarts too much oil in it and it sounded much louder than before. This is part of why I think the cat is ruined and why oil may be getting into places it shouldn't. On the dash of my Audi it also says something about "coolant" and "oil pressure" but the warnings on the LCD screen do not give more details beyond that.
Please let me know what you think I should do next or if this car is ruined. Thanks
