Unhappy B6 A4 No first or second gear

Good evening all. New to this Audi Forum site. Ive run into a problem tonight. I was driving and coming to a stop at a light. Put the shifter into first but did not release the clutch. After that situation, the car will not go into FIRST or SECOND gear. Ive been having to start in THIRD.. I feel like the shift linkage could be out of sync now. Can somebody please forward me to a DIY page of some sort..

CAR IS A : 2002 Audi A4, 3.0 V6, 6-Speed Manual, 183k miles.

Here she is in all her glory..

Will the car shift into first or second while its off? Is it only present while the car is running?

Check your brake fluid to begin with, if it's low you might need brake pads and thus the fluid is starving the slave, the 3rd gear is easier to "catch" than 1st or 2nd if the clutch is not releasing all the way. Second I highly doubt that one of your screws might have come loose, but if it did, you have to drop the tranny to get to it, in any case this is a DIY for replacing the S4 B6 clutch, talks about the transmission linkage in there and the transmission seemed very easy to me. If none of the previous is your problem then it's probably time for a new clutch as your pressure plate might be sticking.

It turns out it was the linkage under the car. There is a rod going north to south with a bushing which attaches to the transmission. This piece was worn out and would not allow the car to go into gear.

Reading the post till now, I'm not sure I follow up. My first and second gear is out I replace the clutch, and it wasn't that. I could drive in 3 to 6 and reverse but not first and second. I have no clue what's going on. I'm not a mechanic but I really want to learn how to fix this problem for my 2003 audi a4 3.0 quattro. ??
