Being REJECTED on Smog Test!!! + P0441 code
So here in Las Vegas i'm allowed to have 1 not completed test. So far everything completes except my EVAP system and my SAI (mine is deleted but will throw a code after so many miles)
As for the EVAP I was able to pass last year even when my SAI was installed still but not even working. I need to know how long it takes before the ECU decides to throw the code. Like how many miles before it shows up. People say 50-100 miles. I need to know a little more exact so I can go for a smog test right before it throws the code. I bought a new gas cap since I got a P0441 code. I don't top off and I don't have a hiss sound after filling or twisting off the cap. So I'm not sure what it could be other than the cap itself.
Does anyone know how much I should drive right before the light will come on for my SAI not being there?
At the moment, I reset my ECU last night and drove for a little over 20 miles today before testing it...still my EVAP is not completing. My mechanic told me to drive for 15 min at least and then test it...I actually drove 45 min today and still didn't pass...so I'm guessing its on mileage now.
PLEASE HELP! I really don't want to get rid of my car but its looking like thats my only option if I can't pass smog...Also, those guys that will pass me for $100+ are practically gone since the county has cracked down on those people.
