big problem installing new radio
hi ive searched all over the forums for this and cant seem to find anything on it. im trying to install a new headunit in my 2003 a4 b6 its the JVC KW-AVX810. i bought this wiring harness from crutchfield and its no good because i dont get sound from my rear speakers. i read somewhere that, that harness does not have the amp integrated and would have to power the rear speakers separately i really dont wanna do that and just want everything to work like it was with the symphony unit i had in there. my question is: has anyone out there done this without a wiring harness, just hot wiring it to the existing harness that the car has? i think that is the only way its going to function like it was meant to. any help or a step by step diy would be greatly appreciated.
hey i had the symphanyII radio in my audi and now i have a alpine cd player in my car. But the harness that i had had the rca jacks on it in stead of wires. so i had to conect it to the rca's on the back of the head unit when i got a cdplayer...Hope this helps. They said it has the rca jacks so you dont over load the amp for the bose system., That is if you have bose...
thanks for the reply, i do have the harness with the rca jacks and the bose and still the rear speakers dont work very well. i just wish i can cut off the factory harness and mate it to my new radios harness im sure its possible i just need detailed instructions so i dont mess or burn anything up.
