Hi all, new to the forum. Have a question someone might be able to help me with......
This evening when I went to unlock my car (2010 model A4 Technik) a long continous beep came from the dash.....never heard it before. Then when I placed key in the ignition, car started up but driver information LCD was blank......MMI screen is fine, speedometer and rev counter working ok......all lights on the dash when ignition is turned on.......but no LCD display between speedo amd rev counter. Checked all fuses and ok....... reset button under wiper stalk nmerous times.......tried switching on/off ignition multiple times......no success. There were never any issues with LCD this until today....now it is completely blank-cannot see mileage, odometer, temp or digital speed. I am at a loss as to what's wrong here. Before I go down the route of bringing to an Audi dealer, would be grateful if any one had any similar issues and resolutions?

 

did you get to the bottom of the issue with your LCD display going blank after hearing the continuous beeping on your Audi A4? I have a 2011 A4 Technik and have recently experienced the exact same situation as yourself and I am looking to find out how this can be fixed. Hopefully you got this sorted and can let me know.

 

After a few days the instrument cluster LCD display came back to life.
Maybe it was the few thumps I hit it with that brought it back........
Still haven't got to the bottom of what causes it though- maybe it was a loose connection behind the dash, not sure
Been working fine for the past 2 months without issue so fingers crossed it doesn't happen again.
