boost leak
my car is acting up again.... i think its a boots leak or something does anyone know how much this will cost to get fixed and if its not a boost leak i think it might be my turbo going bad and i want to know how much will those cost to replace from the dealership?
when the turbo kicks in my car jerks like say if you were putting your foot on the gas and taking it off but doing that over and over again thats what it feels like. do u guys think it can be a boost leak or something
What mods do you have done thus far? My car did the same thing (after I chipped it) tested the DV and it was bad(original) so I upgraded(?) to the 710N DV and somewhat solved it for a while but after the testpipe and n75J valve its back again. Doesnt do it if I push throttle just passed the second stage but if I put it to the floor its pretty bad. I'm thinking either A) the 710N is too weak (rated for 14 psi) or B) The injectors cannot deliver enough fuel for the a/f ratio to be sufficient. I'm in process of ordering the TT225 386cc injectors and than send my ecu out again to get it 1+ed. Hoping that may take care of it but won't know til I get them. If you find anything out please let me know so I can copy the repair. Thanks and good luck!
i don't have any mods done to my car. to be honest.....i am really getting sick of this car. ever since i got it its been a expensive piece of junk and Audi of America doesn't care about their customers no matter how many time you complain. i just don't know what to do any more.
Hey man I know it can be frustrating and if you want a car you don't have to work on...ever my personnal recommendation (from owning 3 of them) is a Honda Accord. I actually got bored with the cars because they never needed me to care for them. Ungrateful bastard cars. Audi's are a labor of love and I'm happy to work on mine it brings me closer to it and actually the more I work on it the more attached to it I become.
Anyhow with no mods done it is my estimation and I would almost guarantee that it is th e factory DV valve. If you remove it press down on the valve with a deep socket that will fit 10mm or larger and while you have the valve depressed place your thumb or finger or whatever over the small barb on the top of the DV and then release the valve while still holding thumb finger etc over the small barbed end nipple. If the valve immediately returns or quickly returns to its original position then dv is bad. I'm as certain as I can possibly be that this is the cause of your woes. Upgrade to at least the 710N DV(about $50 through Audi) and problem solved until that component fails again. Good luck man sorry to hear your losing faith in your car...

How to change out DV- http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2908467
The DV valve is located (while standing facing the engine) to the right of the turbo on the left side of the radiator and is by the turbo intake pipe. It has two rubber hoses that are about 3/4" in diameter and one rubber hose about 1/4" in diameter connected to the top of it. Its about 2 1/2" inches in diameter and about 3" in height. Hope this helps man keep fighting the good fight.
I should also add I was only able to access it from underneath the vehicle. Remove the splashguard and bring some paitience its kind of awkward to get to...
