I am new to owning anything other than an american car. I just sold my supercharged GTO because I'm starting a family. I purchased an 05 A4 1.8T. I wanted to get everyones take on what to do to it.

I guess I wanted to find out what little things I can do myself....maybe you could hook me up with some links to some good audi performace parts websites. I was thinking about an exhaust and intake.

I was looking into http://www.atpturbo.com/ and was wondering if anyone has bought a turbo kit from them. If I go with them what supporting mods should I make.

And lastly, I was wondering what HP can I get my A4 to without having to worry about engine internals. And if I was going to go through the engine what should I change.

I would say 400hp is that point when you should begin thinking about changing your internals.

The basic and the best mod for the $$$ is a chip. It would give you about 50hp/65tq more for like $500.

 

Ok, I am also a new owner of a 2005 Audi A4 1.8T. I just purchased a APR Stage 1 Chip and I love it, I loved it so much that I found some Audi TT225 injectors online for 300 buck and installed them which tookme like 30 minutes and jumped up to APR Stage 1+ kit. so for around 800 buck I jumped my numbers to 229HP and 271TQ, thats a +59HP and +105TQ increase. Igot aitg filter but im gonna upgrade to and intake soon, i also have been looking at exhaust but can't decide between the APR sport or the AWE exhaust. Well this is whatI have done so far, let me know what you decide and what kind of numbers you get.

 

^^^ U know that intake gives about 0 hp/tq gains, right??? Thats if you are looking for some performance gains. If you are looking for some differen sound, thats a different story.

 

Yeah at the moment it won't get me any gains, but I am going to upgrade to a K04 in the near future and want to have this and an exhaust already in place. I did notice better throttle response plus alittle more DV sound when i did upgrade to the ITG filter and I also took out the bug catcher or what ever it is in the stock intake.
