Default Brake warning light

Hello - the emergency brake light warning constantly goes off when driving my Audi a4 2002, even though the emergency brake is not in use. The light, along with a series of beeping sounds keeps occurring and is driving me crazy. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. FYI - I am not very handy so if this is a difficult issue I will need to take it to a professional. Thank you for any input.

I had this happen to me in my old Avenger but never in my Audi. It ended being that the brake fluid was low. That might be a good place to start.

^^^^^
first this.

then possibly the ABS module going bad

finally, get a SCAN

PS Wilkommen to the forums. be sure to spend some time reading in the A4 section. for future questions, try the stickies first, then a search, then post in the appropriate sub-forum. Not too many of the OGs, that would have answers to questions, view the "New Member Welcome Area"

good luck

have fun

Just added 1/3 can of Dot 4 fluid and light/beeper stopped. 2006 A4 55K miles, probably looking at first new brakes soon. But a happy $5 fix for now.
