Anyway, I tried the Klima thing yesterday and it seems to have worked. I didn't use the whole can as they suggested, just about half.
i just called my audi dealership here in chicago and he said the same thing too. i guess i'll try to do it myself as well with lysol first. that is what he recommended. otherwise if i take it in, the service would cost $280.00 to get the smell out.
i'm like $280.00???!! wtf... i'll buy a can of lysol for 3 bucks first, thats for sure.
but now i have to also buy another new cabin air filter cause i already replaced that hoping that that was the problem ( obviously it wasnt ). cause he said that i should spray the lysol on the cabin air filter with the air on high. i dont think i want to keep smelling lysol each time i turn on the air. i just hope that this doesnt just "mask"the odor but will completely take out the smell from mildew.

im kinda surprised that this covers the first 12mo ONLY??! my cars warranty doesnt expire for another 2mo with a mileage of 47500 on it.

The Lysol thing worked for me but it seemed like it masked the smell- I'd catch a whiff of the funky smell mixed with lysol occasionally.

Try the Klima-Cleaner if Lysol doesn't solve the problem....it worked for me...so far.

will definitely try klima-cleaner. looked into it on the internet and theres alot of positive results as well as a pic of a before and after shot i saw of the evap coil. hopefully the tube will be long enough to reach into that area.

by the way... since many have mentioned a clogged drain line, does anyone have a picture of what it looks like. im really clueless on this and any help would be appreciated!
is it a metal pipe? plastic? where exactly by the passenger tire is it since i probably wont see any drips because of it being clogged.

and what was your best treatment to unclogg the drain line?

I don't think you need to worry about a clogged drain unless you are seeing water in the front passenger area inside the car.
