Hey Guys,

I will be doing my timing belt soon and I'm looking at blauparts.com's kit for $398 bucks --IMHO is a better deal than ecs.

My question is, since both sellers do not include cam lock tool. Is it necessary for me to get one? Has anyone replaced theirs w/o using the special tool?

I have an 02 A4 3.0 Quattro.

For the 3.0 yes, you need the tools, you can rent them from blauparts as well...

Can someone rent or lend me their cam lock tool?

Blauparts requires a $500 deposit, so that means $398 for the kit plus $545 for the tool kit.
