Default v6 cam lock tool

whats up guys im looking for that infamous cam lock tool to finish this timing belt job. i kinda wanted to stay away from actually purchasing the tool because this regular maintenance is starting to get expensive. maybe i can rent it from some one that has it in my area. thanks

If you set the job up correctly by indexing cylinder #3 at TDC on the compression stroke, the cams will be sitting on the flat parts of the lobes and you won't need to lock them. When our crew has had t-belts off, we wouldve had to hit the sprockets with a hammer to turn them. If you didn't set it up that way, lock them in. Get a drilled piece of flat stock at Lowes and make your own locking tool.

thats what it looks like. you dont necessarily need the 90* bends, it can just be a strait bar. just drill the holes on center and you are good. if you search you can find more pictures.
