Hey guys i've been driving with my CEL on and it reads P0441 i had 78k miles and was wondering if this is bad to keep driving like this the Dealer told me if i wanted it fix it costs $280.00. Im trying to save up for the timing belt replacement and Dealer told me 1600 for that. I am planning on chiping the car and now am worried this could be bad news

 

That's just for emissions, is difficult to get rid off and doesn't affect the performance of the car.

 

Does your car hesitate to start after filling up with gas?

If so, it's your EVAP purge valve or known as the N80 valve. You can purchase for $65-80 and change yourself in 5-15mins as its in plain sight under your hood by the air ducting. This valve floods and dies if you "top your tank off". Don't ever top your tank off!

Also, this code is known to be thrown from a bad gas cap. And if I'm correct, if you forgot to tighten your gas cap, it can throw this code. If that's the case, your car won't clear the code on its own until you tighten the cap and then I believe it takes 7-8 cycles of your car starting. And you can't just turn your key and start your car up 7-8 times as quickly as you can.
