So I've been wanting a chip for a while and I know its one of the best things you can do. I have a buddy who has an 04 a4 1.8t 6 speed. He has the APR chip supposedly and I asked if i could buy it off of him but he said it was just software downloaded?? HOw do people sell chips if you can't take it out and resell it? Or does he not know what he is talking about? Or am I just the uneducated one? I've never had one nor exactly known how they are installed but is there any one to get it on my car? Even if mine is an 03 5 speed?

 

We call it a chip, but for our cars it is really a FLASH the gets flashed into our ECU. So yeah, u cant buy an actual CHIP from him, but depending what year is your car you might be able to swap the ECUs
