chip and spark questions
I am looking to upgrade my ECU and get some spark plugs. I am wondering what the best spark plug is for the 1.8T. The nuespeed chip I want recommends the Denso IK22.
Which is better platinum of iradium for the 1.8T?
What is the best chip to go with?
I want Nuespeed as not to have to deal with switching maps, but do I want that feature for long trips? I dont plan on switching maps that often. I dont track my car. I am just looking to get some extra umph via chip, sparks, and exhaust. If I plan on doing anything else in the future (i.e. injectors, intercooler, etc.) which is the be chip to go with as I do not plan on doing anything extra yet?
I already know I am going with a custom cat-back exhaust with these Magnaflow 14832

The iridium plugs are made for longer life, but I believe the platinum is better in regards to performance. Some people on here recommended the copper core plugs because they run a little hotter (but don't last as long).
^ and copper is $2.00 rather than $50 for platinum. My plugs are blinged out. Well, if you're planning on getting injectors go for the APR 1+ flash. And get 440's. intercooler and exhaust components won't matter what chip you got. Neuspeed aint that great anymore. Their tuning game has slacked off somewhat. APR is on top of the software portion for now along with Revo.
Thanks. I'll prolly go with iradium and Ill prolly go with APR, so I'll have to see if I can find out what sparks they recommend.
After chip, exhaust, hotter plugs, and injectors what is the next step? Is it a bigger turbo?

copper plugs are ideal for boosted applications where KR robs power and can be devastating. the copper dissipates heat better preventing hot spots where pre-detonation occurs. go with copper core, they're super cheap and give you advantages in your boosted car that the more expensive plugs cant. you'll just have to replace them more often, which takes...what like 5 min on the 1.8?
