Default Coil packs for 3.0 V6?

I have had 3 ignition coils fail in the last 4 months.
Really bizarre since I have owned the car for 5 years and didn't loose any for the first 4.5 years. Also very funny to drive over to the dealer in my wife's 95 civic to pick up parts for my busted-*** 02 audi.

But anyway, I'm wondering if there are aftermarket coils that are more reliable than the OEM ones? The new coils from the dealer are the "L" series, part number is 06C905115L and presumably are more reliable than earlier ones.

ECS tuning lists three coils for the 3.0, a "vw-audi", a "Bremi" and a "Meyle", all about the same price. Anybody know if they are actually different from each other or have any good/bad experience with any of them?

Cheers

Yes, the stock OEM coils suck a big one on a 3.0L. They are the same ones used on the 1.8T made by bremi, so stay away from those. I would buy 6 of the Meyle coils and you should be good to go.

Interesting ... do you mean they are actually cross-compatible? Or just that internally they are the same?

Thanks for the advice, I will try out the Meyle ones.
