None of them add any power, especially on a turbo equipped engine.....thats what the intercooler is for.
However if you want the intake noise buy the APR intake.

APR intake? Are you talking about their turbo inlet hose or the Carbonio they sell for $341 which is just a open fitler with a CF cover that sits on top of it.

BTW if you can actually get air from outside of the engine bay into a CAI and have a good heat shield to keep the engine heat away from the filter there will be a nice gain in power. Back when I ran open filter with my T28 I gained .3 seconds at the drags by pulling my head light while running a open filter and heat shield.

If you look at some of the other Audi cars that are used on the track they too use tubes to get air up to the filter or air box, basically acting like a air ram setup.

Hi There - I have an '05 Cabrio that is completely stock. I would like to begin tuning it. The first thing I would like to deal with is reducing/eliminating the turbo lag. It sounds like a CAI will not be of any help or add any HP. Any ideas out there? I know there are a lot of you who have done some great things to your rides. Thanks in advance.

Have you chipped the car yet?

I am looking at the GIAC upgrade - We have a dealer here in Sacramento. Is that where you would start then? Once the chip upgrade is done, what do you think of the AFE CAI? Per its description, it has a heat shield as you describe.
