optionally I added a tire valve to the lawn sprayer to pressurize it with compressed air
I purchased 5 quarts of genuine audi CVT oil on ebay for $55 + $15 shipping (still listed on ebay listed as - 5 Quarts of CVT Automatic Transmission Fluid G 052 180 A2 CVT
I already had the security bit socket to drain the old fluid.
I pumped in 5 quarts and warmed up the transmission (Level on Jack stands)
about 1/2 quart drained out once the trans fluid reached 45 Degrees centigrade (used Vag-Com ) to meassure trans temp (basically had to run engine for 5 minutes on jack stand to reach 45 degrees.
Brave man...never heard of a DIY job on this one. Did all the fluid eventually come out ?

Only about 5 quarts came out.
I read somewhere that the trans only holds 8 quarts, not to sure
I try to change my fluid every 35,000 miles
so far I have 140,000 miles on my 2004 A4 CVT FWD 1.8

The whole CVT transmission is flawed ! I guess it's a hit and miss, but more chances that the transmission is no good. Better get the Quattro and have the conventional 5 speed automatic.

Settlement of Class Action Against Audi Gets Preliminary Approval - NYTimes.com

WHY IS NO ONE MENTIONING THIS??????
Did I really have to create an account to tell an Audi forum about a resolution to this plague??

Come on!

No.. Audi was sued and lost. People with fucked CVT's are getting them repaired/replace/reimbursed for what they payed to fix it. Read that article... or google it:

Yep got my letter in the mail on the 19th. Only problem is I have 133,000 miles on mine but no problems yet (knocks on wood). Had the oil changed at the dealer for about $300 at 107,000 which cleared up some of the jerking. however the jerking is coming back. Getting ready to have it changed again! Take care of your CVT!

Just dropped mine off at the dealership.
The guy didn't know about the settlement but it showed in his system that the tranny is covered up to 10 yrs/100K.

Got my 2014 A4 loaner and driving it to the beach today.

Finally some good karma coming my way.
