Ok, long story but I Definitely have LOTS of blowby........Leak down test was blowing air out of the dipstick. SO.........the choice is to pull the engine or, well, do a full disclosure sale to someone that wants a project. How hard is it to pull this engine and anyone want to take a guess at parts and machine shop cost to redo the lower end.

2003 audi a4 1.8T, Manual with 85,000 miles on it.

sounds dead. best bet is probably parting it out. alot of people need parts.

 

You're giving up on a 2003 with only 85k miles on it? I'd invest in a rebuilt motor. You've still got another 100k miles or more before it's ready to give up the ghost.
